This was a moving story, about a rich workaholic who, after losing his job and his wife, rebuilds his life by working at Starbucks.

It was an enjoyable read.

Mieke sent me this book from the Netherlands which is why I read it in Dutch, in a good translation.

Today was a busy day. I worked from home and brought my parents and Nora to Sasha's work. It was great to go for a run.

It was very warm but it feels good.

Went for a nice run. It was drizzling a little bit.

This was the first run in 5 days, and it went pretty slow. It was warm but not hot.

My parent's flight had a delay so I had an unexpected opportunity to go for a run. That was very welcome since I didn't run in the weekend.

Run went well. It was a little bit cooler.

When I arrived home and did some stretching I met Sasha and Nora who just came back from a walk.

This is my first run in a week, and it was super slow -- 45 minutes! Didn't run earlier since the Zane family is here.

Run was nice, if a bit hot.

So it's at least 15 degrees cooler than Saturday and that resulted in a 9 minute improvement in time.

I was also a little worried that I had pushed my left leg a little too much during Saturday's run, but today it felt okay. Not great but okay.

Run was awesome. I felt some much stronger in this temperature! I ran when Sasha came home from work.

Wow! It's so hot!

Yesterday evening I gave up after 1 mile when it was 93 degrees so today I tried again... at 97 degrees. It took my 8 minutes longer than my usual slowest run but I did complete the 4 miles.

I brought water and took several long breaks to cool off. The run shouldn't have been much longer otherwise I'd have to walk, and I'm proud that I completed it.

On my way home I saw a little girl who was running from the fountain straight to the traffic lanes on Wilson. The mother couldn't grab her on time so I stuck out my arm and stopped the child.

I gave up at Virginia Square, after 1.1 miles. It was just too hot (over 100 degrees), it was a Friday afternoon and I was tired. Let's try again today.

Glad I brought a bottle of water.
